Jane Austen Society Florence is an association founded by event organiser, costume designer and dancer Margarita Martinez in 2008. Together with Atelier de Danse, Florence, they hold an annual Jane Austen and/or Napoleonic Ball open to international guests, faithfully reproducing a Ball from that period; dancing, music, orchestration, buffet, clothes, manners, games and culture.
Dances performed are: the menuet (1810), quadrilles, contredanses françaises, contredanses anglaises, cotillons, ecossaises and waltzes (1810),

A guided visit to Sir William and Emma Hamilton’s Palazzo Sessa & lunch

2-hour Dance Run-through in the throne room of the Reggia di Caserta and a visit of the Museum followed by dinner in Caserta’s oldest trattoria. A visit to the Caserta Park from 1pm to 5pm for those already in town

Visit to the Capodimonte Royal Palace and its Park

The Grand Murat Ball at the Royal Palace of Naples
Sunday 26th May 2019 10.30am - 11pm
A visit to the Portici Royal Palace, a picnic lunch in the Botanic Gardens and a Grand Tour Visit of the Ruins of Pompeii and dinner nearby.
